Officers shall meet on a weekly basis to prepare the agenda and pertaining matters to be discussed at the regular club meeting.
Regular club meetings will be held in room 310. Attendance of all members is absolutely required. Everyone shall be notified as to what day of the week and specific hour the meeting will take. In order to become a member of our organization the students must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 in an honor or AP foreign language class. All officers and members are required to pay club dues of $15.00 per year. All members must attend all club activities. Anyone absent from three of our general meetings shall be expelled unless they have a legitimate excuse, which must also be approved by the sponsor and fellow members. A quorum to conduct business at a meeting shall exist when one third (1/3) of the membership is present.
Elections shall be held at the end of the school year. A list of members eligible for offices shall be presented to the sponsor. All students on the list shall be considered nominated and they shall be voted upon unless requested otherwise. A nominee must win by at least two votes. Only members present at the meeting will be able to vote. If for some reason an officer must reign, a special election shall be held for that office at the earliest time possible either at a regular meeting or at a specially convened meeting. If in case of extenuating circumstance a team of new officers cannot be elected at the end of the end of the school year, elections will take place as soon as possible at the beginning of the new school year with the presence of new and previous members.
Group members must be committed to the idea that working together as a team leads to more effective decisions than working in isolation; however, the individual should have the right to express objections and to suggest an alternative idea.
